2. Information We Collect
2.1 Listening to a Tour — No Account Required
Joining a tour as a listener does not require an account, a name, an email address, or any other identifying information. Scanning a QR code or entering a short code is all that's needed.
2.2 Guiding a Tour — Account Information
If you create an account to guide tours (including to start a free trial guide session, purchase a single paid session, or subscribe), we collect the email address, password (stored only as a salted hash — we never see or store your actual password), and optional display name you provide. We use this to identify your account, let you log back in, and send account-related email such as password resets.
2.3 Payment Information
Paid sessions and subscriptions are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not collect or store your card number or other card details ourselves — Stripe handles that directly. We do store a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your subscription status (e.g. active, canceled) so we know what access your account has.
2.4 Automatically Collected Data (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This includes non-identifying, aggregated data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, browser type, device type, general geographic region, and referring websites.
3. How We Use the Information
We use account information (email, password hash, display name) solely to:
- Create and secure your guide account
- Let you log back in
- Send account-related email, such as password reset links
- Determine which paid features (single sessions, subscription) your account has access to
We use analytics data solely to:
- Improve website performance
- Understand visitor behaviour
- Enhance the user experience
- Monitor traffic patterns
- Identify technical issues
We do not sell, rent, or share your account information or analytics data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

5. Real-Time Audio Streaming
Tour Guide Speakers provides live audio streaming between a tour guide and their clients. We do not record, store, analyze, or associate audio with any user. All audio is transmitted in real time using encrypted WebRTC technology.
6. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third-party services: Google Analytics for website usage data, Stripe for payment processing, and our hosting and email providers for running the service and sending account-related email. Each of these services processes data under its own privacy policy and only as needed to provide its part of the service.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption, secure WebRTC channels, password hashing, regular updates, and server-side monitoring to protect the account information we do store.
8. International Users
Our website may be accessed from outside Canada. By using the site, you understand that analytics data may be processed in other jurisdictions according to their laws.
